About
Jessica Tse Jessica Tse began her studies with Master Michael Tse and the Tse
Qigong Centre in London
in 1993. Master Tse's classes included learning about Chinese philosophy and
wisdom, not just forms and meditation. He taught his students that this philosophy
was every bit as important as that of learning movement as it is the essence of
the skill itself. Today, she brings this same teaching to her own classes,
sharing with students the rich history and lineage of the skill they are
learning.Since moving back to England,
she offers regular classes in Dayan Qigong, Wing Chun Kung Fu from the Ip
Man/Ip Chun lineage and Chun Yuen Quan (Northern Shaolin Long Fist). She also
offers seminars and private training in 5 Element Healthy Cooking, a method of using
foods for healing and balancing the body.
Wild
Goose Qigong & Wing Chun Kuen She says, "Qigong made a noticeable
difference in my life, making me calmer and more relaxed. Even family and
friends noticed a difference. Not long
after, I also began studying Wing Chun Kung Fu. Wing Chun is a very interesting
skill. It is a clever, rather than brute force martial art. The Chi Sau
(sticking hands) is a fun and safe way to train and develop skill with a
partner. I noticed that it quickly developed my coordination and reactions but
it was the philosophy of using less energy to defend against a larger opponent
that really appealed to me as a woman. I was not interested going to a class to
get bruised and injured. I wanted to develop real, traditional skill not just
aggression."
Chun
Yuen Quan & Hard Qigong Later she began studying the Chun Yuen Quan and Hard Qigong as it
filled in the gap for more Yang energy. She says that these skills improved both
her soft Qigong and Wing Chun level by developing her bones and Gong Lik (internal
energy) which also means stronger Qi and healthier internal organs. She
says, "Before I only thought about developing relaxation and softness but the
longer I studied and the healthier I became, I found my body seeming to hunger
for something more energetic and physically challenging. The Chun Yuen particularly
brought up my fitness level with its open stances and fascinating and unique weapon
forms. The Hard Qigong made me more disciplined."
Tse
Qigong Centre Authorised Instructor Jessica Tse has been an authorised instructor for the Tse Qigong Centre
since 1996 and now passes down the skills she has learned through her on-going
classes. Wild Goose Qigong can help us develop good health and harmony and the
Chun Yuen Quan tremendous fitness and confidence. Wing Chun Kung Fu can give us
not only a practical method of self defence, but a sound philosophy for
handling difficulties. Hard Qigong can give us super health with strong bones,
discipline and direction.
She
says, "I count myself lucky that I am able to learn and also teach these
precious Chinese skills that have been handed down for many centuries. Although
these skills are many hundreds of years old - and in the case of the Wild Goose
Qigong - thousands of years old - these are all skills that we desperately need
in our lives today to help us be more balanced and healthy. Without good health,
we cannot enjoy life."
